President Bush Misses Key Deadline

President Bush Misses Key Deadline

April 29th was the deadline for implementation of an important provision of the Sudan Accountability and Divestment Act (SADA), which would prohibit federal contracts with foreign companies funding the genocide.

Over the past weeks, citizens have made thousands of phone calls to the White House, asking President Bush to ensure that the deadline was met. Unfortunately, the deadline has passed, and the provision prohibiting federal contracts with foreign companies fueling the genocide has still not been implemented.

Please send a message to Director Jim Nussle of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). Director Nussle's office oversees the Federal Acquisition Regulation Council, which is in charge of implementing the provision.

Ask Director Nussle to amend procurement regulations in order to prevent future contracts, and the renewal of existing contracts, with companies supporting the government of Sudan.
