Membership Internship

The Membership Intern will assist in recruiting, servicing, and mobilizing GI-Net's membership to actively participate in its Darfur-related programs. The intern will also assist in the consolidation of GI-Net's permanent constituency - a crucial element of GI-Net's long-term mission.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Work on GI-Net's Ask The Candidates campaign which aims to make Darfur a priority in the presidential race
  • Correspond with GI-Net members (e.g. sending support materials for their events, explaining our policy/legislative agenda)
  • Assist in the writing of a bi-weekly newsletter and periodic action alerts
  • Assist in the creation of membership informational materials

Helpful Experience:

  • An excellent verbal and written command of English
  • Excellent inter-personal communication skills
  • Computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Office, Internet applications) are essential
  • Interest and experience in human rights advocacy desirable, particularly related to genocide and Darfur
  • Well-organized, self-motivated, and reliable
