Administrative Associate
Genocide Intervention Network (GI-Net) is changing the way the United States and the
international community respond to the world's worst crimes by empowering individuals and
communities with the tools to prevent and stop genocide. GI-Net's aim is to build the first
permanent anti-genocide constituency.
GI-Net is recruiting a network of anti-genocide activists who educate their communities, pressure
their elected officials, and fundraise directly for civilian protection. Currently the organization’s
work is focused on ending the ongoing genocide in Darfur, Sudan.
GI-Net is currently seeking a motivated, self-starter to provide technical and administrative
support to its Operations and Development departments.
Summary of Qualifications:
- B.A. degree required
- Associates Degree in a relevant subject area (for example, business management,
administration, financial and/or human resource management) and/or 5-8 years of
increasingly responsible administrative and/or managerial experience may be substituted
for degree requirement. - 1-2 years experience with progressive responsibility in professional office setting
- Prior experience with Quickbooks helpful
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
- Strong written and verbal communication skills preferred
- Must be a self-motivated professional able to work effectively independently and as a
team - Ability to manage time and multiple assignments within assigned deadlines
- Ability to work independently
- Strong attention to detail
- Must have a specific interest in preventing and stopping genocide across the world
Summary of Job Description:
The Administrative Associate is responsible for the following:
- General Administrative Support: Makes travel arrangements, and processes administrative forms for the Executive Director. Routes organizational mail; opens mail directed to the Operations and Development staff and routes as appropriate; maintains centralized calendar of conference room reservations; orders supplies for the organization and monitors office supplies inventory; answers the main phone line and routes calls to appropriate staff; provides basic information to callers by phone, fax, and email; and maintains files related to administrative functions.
- Administrative Support for Financial Functions: Maintains financial filing system ensuring that important documents are easily retrievable; processes various financial reporting forms (ex., check requests, expense reports, and travel authorizations).
- Administrative Support for Human Resources Functions: Maintains human resources filing system; maintains the Personal Time off (PTO) and Compensatory Time (Comp Time) records; posts job announcements internally and externally to various employment web sites.
- Coordination and recordkeeping for the Intern Program at GI-Net: Includes posting internship announcements; responding to inquiries; scheduling internship interviews; maintaining the interns manual; and scheduling exit internship interviews for every intern.
- Administrative Support for Development/Fundraising Functions: Logs incoming donations and processes incoming donations by preparing checks for deposit; enters donor/donation data using CRM software; generates thank you receipts for donations

Low to Mid $30’s
