Since 2004, STAND, the Student Anti-Genocide Coalition, has worked tirelessly to raise awareness of the genocide in Darfur both on college campuses and in local communities--now these efforts are expanding into the social networking sphere.
Today, STAND launched the STAND Now! Facebook application for registered STAND users signed up to a chapter on STAND's new website [1].
Registered STAND users can now access the following functions through their Facebook profiles:
- STAND blog updates
- Chapter events and updates
- DarfurScores [2] for their elected representatives
- Latest 1-800-Genocide [3] asks for elected representatives
- Latest STAND campaigns
- STAND's guide to Activism 101
Whether you are a student, community leader, or have a casual interest in preventing and ending genocides and other human rights atrocities around the world, many of the resources you need to stay informed and take action can now be found on a site you likely use every day.
