November 13, 2008: Looking Ahead

STAND and Save Darfur Coalition Annual Conferences in Washington, D.C.
Dear Friends,
On Friday, November 7th, in Washington, D.C., hundreds marched by the White House and the headquarters of President-Elect Obama's Transition Team. Their message? Make ending genocide a priority from Day One. While most of the press were still scrambling to locate the Transition Team's office, our movement was on the scene to demonstrate that we will be watching and holding the next administration accountable for their actions to end genocide.
Although there will be many challenges along the way, a new administration brings renewed opportunity to accomplish what is needed to end genocide in Darfur. We must not let up.
This past weekend in DC, I saw hundreds assemble for training at an inspiring anti-genocide conference and thousands participate in the Tents of Hope exhibit on the Washington Mall. I saw a movement - smart, loud, and strong. We will not let up.
