DARFUR: As new aid agencies work to eliminate remaining aid gaps in Darfur, the Sudanese government and JEM rebels continue to fight in North Darfur.

DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO: Civilians in the east remain at risk of violence perpetrated by the Lord’s Resistance Army, FDLR rebels and soldiers of the Congolese military.

EASTERN BURMA: The Burmese Army and its proxies continue their offensive in Karen state as two new reports highlight the crimes committed by the government against civilians in the east.

SOMALIA: The UN reports that war crimes are regularly committed in Somalia, as fighting in Somalia continues.

SRI LANKA: Overt fighting may have ended with the battlefield defeat of the LTTE, but restrictions on humanitarian aid to more than 200,000 civilians remain. The UN and EU call for investigation into war crimes.

DARFUR: As the rainy season nears, gaps in aid operations have yet to be addressed. The peace process continues between JEM and the Sudanese government, despite the sidelining of civil society.

DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO: As the rebels and the government continue to battle in the east, the United States Senate introduces legislation aimed at addressing conflict minerals, a main motivation behind the ongoing fighting.

DARFUR: The United States Government calls for a resolution to the humanitarian expulsions and Special Envoy Gration expects a plan to be in place by May 9th.

DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO: The situation in the DR Congo remains fluid as attacks by the FDLR and the LRA continue.

DARFUR: Residents of Darfur have begun to feel the effects of the humanitarian expulsion, as aid facilities close or run low on supplies.

DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO: Lord’s Resistance Army and Rwandan Hutu rebels continue to attack villages in the DR Congo.

SRI LANKA: More than 2,800 civilians were killed since January and deaths due to starvation and disease are beginning to occur.

SRI LANKA: The Sri Lankan army entered the final Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE)-held town and more than 200,000 civilians are caught in the fighting.

DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO: Forces Democratic De Liberation Du Rwanda (FDLR) and Lord's Resistance Army (LRA) rebel attacks continue in the north and east of the Democratic Republic of Congo, placing hundreds of thousands at risk.
