President Bush Defends Olympics Decision

President Bush Defends Olympics Decision

While in Japan, President Bush defended his decision to attend the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Beijing in August; he believes that not attending "would be an affront to the Chinese people," making it "more difficult to be able to speak frankly with the Chinese leadership."

Prime Minister of Japan Yasuo Fakuda will also be attending the opening ceremonies, voicing views similar to Bush, and adding "I don't think you really have to link Olympics with politics."

Other world leaders, such as Prime Minister of Britain Gordon Brown and Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel, will not be present at the opening ceremonies.  The Chinese government is facing criticism from these leaders and protesters worldwide on its policies towards Tibet and the Sudanese government.

Imminent Revolution

Hi People,
I appreciate that you care not only for American lives, which is something that cannot be said for most Americans.
I see that you have an endeavor underway to ask the presidential candidates to state their positions on the Darfur horror, and to get the next president to take a moral stand on the death and destruction.
Any statement issued by these two will be worthless and meaningless, as they will merely say whatever is most politically advantageous to themselves at the moment, while feeling free to break any commitments subsequently. These people, and their Democrat and Republican peers on all levels of government, possess no integrity or principles. They prove this day in and day out, and it is abundantly clear to anyone who pays even the slightest attention to what they say and do.
As for taking a moral stand on anything, they are incapable of it; and they certainly aren't going to call or rally the American people to start doing anything to help Darfur or oppressed peoples anywhere or to even care. This nation's leaders do nothing but further the people's wretched value hierarchy--at the apex of which is the material and self-interest. Just look at the issues they focus on and what the people care about.
But this is all about to change. Among the many seemingly- impossible things I am about to accomplish on this earth, not the least important will be to change the hearts, minds and value hierarchy of the people. I am about to launch an unprecedented world revolution for freedom and righteousness. My revolution will be multi-faceted--political, spiritual, intellectual, economic, cultural, etc., and in respect to freedom, it will take an uncompromising stand domestically as well as internationally. In the political realm, I'm creating a new political party--the Freedom Party--that I will very quickly lead to power on this planet. All those in power in every nation must be removed from power, and they will be. Personally, my campaign for the presidency is about to come out of nowhere to emerge victorious over the two villains representing the two parties of evil in control of this nation. You people can help ignite the revolution; now is the time.
And you can help launch my campaign for a total economic boycott of China and other countries, including Saudi Arabia, Vietnam and Egypt, which is part of my agenda. We need to prod the people to stop buying all Chinese goods; and more, we need to identify the corporations and companies that are in business with China, etc., in all fields, like banking and telecommunications, and start boycotts against them.
Yes, I know; what will happen to the financial markets and stock markets--the measure of America and its Holy Grail--and how many companies go out of business and people lose their jobs, were any such boycott effected by even a minority of the people? And why in the world would the American people--as self-interested and security-obsessed a people as is--ever willingly jeopardize themselves for others?
These things have to be done, regardless of the consequences, and I would tell you that even if this abominable system wasn't heading towards an implosion all on its own. As for the people, they will follow me, and not because I've told them how great they are, but in part because I've called them to greatness.
I invite you to read my call to revolution/declaration/plan/book, entitled "What Freedom?!!?", at Lulu.com, where it can be read in its entirety, then help start the revolution. (P.S. While one certainly needs to read the entire book, if you want to glance ahead to the section where the bulk of the foreign affairs discussion is, it begins shortly into the second volume.)
Sincerely,
Robert Farrior
